This is the future home of an online art gallery for older artists. Silver Artisans intends to showcase the creativity, vitality and ingenuity of lifelong and emerging artists. Working with community-based arts programs from across the country, Silver Artisans will include visual arts, fabric works, sculpture, jewelry and photography. Works will be sold through the site to support community-arts programs and their artists.
Silver Artisans will operate like a guild. Each community arts program that becomes a member will have the opportunity to operate their own online gallery. The galleries will then select their artists and the works that they want to show online. Galleries, Silver Artisans as well as registered users will be able to create collections providing visitors and themselves with multiple opportunities to view their favorite works.
Silver Artisans expects to be operational by November, 2009. We are currently raising the money needed to complete development.
We are sponsoring a logo contest. The contest invites anyone interested in submitting an original logo that conveys the Silver Artisans concept. Ideas to consider for the logo are:
- It's the stage in life that matters not the age.
- The service is showcasing the creativity, vitality and ingenuity of the artists and the value of community arts programs.
- The current tagline is "Creativity Inspired by Life."
- Because of a longer life, these artists have experiences that bring a unique perspective to their art.
- Silver Artisans will be the platform for thousands of community-arts programs. It will serve as a means for them to recognize their talented participants as well as engage their community in their work.
- The final product will be owned by Silver Artists and it will become its mark.
- The winner of the contest will be recognized on the site, in press releases and receive $250.
Have fun with this. Let your creativity explode. The contest will run through September 15, 2009. Judges of the contest will include the advisory board. If you have any questions, please contact sa_logocontest@ianet.org. And please send your logos to this same address.
